Congratulations to our First Holy Communicants, Alex, Henry, Daithi, Fionn, Jack, James, Saoirse, Nell and Emmie. They celebrated their special day on Saturday April 20th in St Edmund's Church, Castletown.
They all looked fantastic, participated in the Liturgy and music and did themselves and their families proud on the day. Thank you to all the other senior pupils who came along also and assisted either serving mass or playing music. Thank you to Ms Dollard for the great preparation, to Martha and Myra for all their help, To Father Brian for the lovely ceremony and to Dave for the music. It is really appreciated and we hope all the boys and girls had a fantastic day with their families and friends. Congratulations also to our sixth class pupil Morgan, who recieved his confirmation in St Peter's Church, Mountrath, yesterday. We now look forward to the next sacrament here in school, Confirmation on Thursday 30th May with Bishop Niall Coll and Father Brian. Congratulations again to the boys and girls. Tomorrow, Sat 13th April, Laois Camogie are contesting a National League Final against Armagh.
We wish the whole team the best of luck. We are especially proud of our past pupil, Karla Whelan, who is part of the team and our very own Ms Fitzpatrick, who is a selector. The very best of luck girls. Today, we wore our blue and white with pride. The middle room enjoyed a Seó Faisin in March. They made a great effort dressing up in their éadaí éagsúla. They narrated each other as gaeilge as they walked up the runway! Bhí a lán spraoi acu!
Congratulations to the Junior and Senior Rooms who took part in the recent Scriobh Leabhar competition.
Every participant received a small prize (duais) and a certificate. Special congratulations to our overall winners Charlotte Kingston and Reidin Thompson who attended an awards ceremony in Laois Education center. They were presented with their certificate and an Easter egg from Center manager Catherine and Irish Storyteller and author Neil De Burca. Thank you to Yvonne Nolan from Laois Education Center for organising such a lovely ceremony during Seachtain na Gaelige. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class were inspired by Wassily Kandinksy when creating some abstract shamrock art.
Well done to our Cumann na mBunscol Table Quiz group who participated in the Annual Table Quiz last night, March 6th, in Portlaoise.
Congratulations to all our First Holy Communicants on receiving their First Penance today, Thurs 7th March, at school with Fr Brian.

Huge congratulations to our 5th and 6th class pupils who competed in the Vex Robotics competition in Emo on Wed 6th March.
The children built their own robot which they brought to compete with against other schools. Our children came second overall and were the recipients of the overall Teamwork Award. This is a huge achievement and only our first time being involved with robotics. Well done everyone. |
