All at Paddock N.S are so grateful to Mary O Riordan and Portlaoise Lions Club for awarding us a very generous Educational Bursary of five hundred euro.
Mary visited school this morning, Feb 28th, on behalf of the Lions Club to present the cheque. This is in appreciation of our support of the Lions Club activities and especially our participation in the Peace Poster Competition. Thank you again to Mary and Portlaoise Lions Club. Below are photos of our 6th class accepting the cheque with Mary and Ms Fitzpatrick. Well done to both our teams. They both competed well and were not far off medals.
They represented themselves and their school proudly. Congratulations to both our teams who are participating in the St Canice's Primary school Credit Union Table quiz competitions in the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny. U-11 competition takes place Friday 26th January. U-13 competition takes place on Monday 29th January. Hope both teams really enjoy the experience and thank you to Ms Phelan for organising and running a quiz in school to select the teams. Sincere thanks to all the parents who transport the children to Kilkenny for the competitions on the respective nights. Below are pictures of both teams - Well done everyone !. Thank you to everyone who helped make our Christmas Concert such a success. Thank you to the musicians Nuala, Mary and Denise. Thank you to Heather who helped prepare the songs also. Merry Christmas all and here's hoping for a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year. Ms Dollard's 2nd and 3rd class recently held a science exhibition for the whole school. Some presented wonderful projects based on animal and plant life. Others carried out scientific experiments. It was a huge success! Here are some photos of the day. We wore Christmas jumpers getting ready for the Toyshow tonight.
It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. 6th class helped 1st class research Pandas using our chrome books.
