On Monday, 23rd April all the pupils dressed up a character from a book! Everyone made a fantastic effort! Congratulations to our Tutors of the week: Kate Phelan with Robyn Campion, Sarah Lalor with Lila Nolan and Mikey Kirwan with Adrian Dunne. Paired reading took place over the last two weeks. This is where an older child reads with a younger child. Well done to everyone involved.
This year we were honoured to have two entries in this competition. The Junior Room entered their project "Clothes my Great Grandparents and Grandparents Wore", while the Middle Room's project was titled "Sliabh Bloom Mountains". Representatives from each room displayed and spoke about their projects at a presentation evening in Laois Education Centre on Tuesday 17th April. We have to say the children were exceptionally well behaved, presented their projects in- depthly and interacted confidently with the judges. We were pleasantly surprised to see Jeca the Clown was there to keep us entertained and each child enjoyed the delicious refreshments provided by Laois Education Centre. We were delighted to come away with two titles on the night. The Junior Room received "Best Creative Project" while the Middle Room took the title "Best Natural Project" and second overall. Well done to all involved. A special word of thanks to those who represented and supported us on the day, parents for helping to transport boards and children, Martha for her dedication and help as always, teachers Ms Doran and Ms Phelan, our principal Ms Fitzpatrick and of course the boys and girls for the huge amount of effort and work put into the projects. Well done to all. |
