Every year, 5th & 6th class pupils participate in the Laois Lions Club 'Peace Poster' competition.
Children are requested to design a poster , based on an aspect of the theme of Peace, without using any lettering or numbers on the poster.
This year's theme was 'Peace through Service.' This project is co-ordinated annually by our school neighbour Mary O'Riordáin and every school who participates is awarded a class winner and runner-up. Children must be 11 years or older to participate.
The winner for this year's competition was Taidhg Dalton ( 6th Class ) and Emma Heffernan ( 6th Class ) received the runner-up prize.
Both received their awards in school recently, whilst adhering to Public Health guidelines, from the Lions Club Chairperson Máire Ní Riordáin and our co-ordinator Mary O'Riordain.
Both Taidhg and Emma's fantastic posters can be seen below.
All participants received a certificate also.
